It’s said to taste ‘as mild as an apple’. The plant grows to 2 feet bearing thick-fleshed fruits which grow up to 8 inches long and 4 inches in circumference. They ripen from green to red although they’re best used when just turning to red. It can be used fresh, dried or in sauteed dishes.
